Today's Tuesday Teacher feature is Mrs. Prato! Mrs. Prato is a 7th Grade Math teacher. She's a graduate of the University of Missouri School of Journalism and received her MBA from Avila University, where she later taught for three years.
Why did you become a teacher?
Through tutoring, I realized that my passion for math was infectious. While subbing and working with Mrs. Daerr, I also saw students responded well to my teaching style.
What was your favorite memory when you were in middle school?
I did a science project in 8th grade that required me to observe my project and record data and learned my science teacher ate bologna sandwiches for breakfast.
If there was one thing you could tell your 13-year-old self, what would it be?
Don't be afraid to fail! Failure is an integral part of the learning process.
- I'm the only member of my family born in the USA. My siblings and mother were born in Germany.
- I love taking portrait photography.
- I'm obsessed with the beach and have only lived in Florida for eight years.
