Today's Tuesday Teacher is Mrs. Johnson!

Mrs. Johnson is the Visual Arts teacher for 6th, 7th, and 8th Grade. This is her 20th year of teaching and her third year at Walker. Mrs. Johnson is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin - Stout. Her favorite quote is: "Creativity takes courage." - Henri Matisse. She adds, "as an art teacher and artist, creativity is challenging. The older we get, the less creative we become. It is my mission to keep young artists thinking creatively. My motto is, "Feel the fear and do it anyway!"

In her free time, she loves traveling! She said, "I have traveled to 20 different countries and 47 of the 50 states! My goal is to travel to as many different countries as possible; I want to see the world!"

What are 2 or 3 fun facts about you that your students and co-workers might not know?

"I only have one kidney. I jumped into a mud volcano. I hiked the Great Wall of China."

What an adventurer!

Mrs. Johnson also leads the after school Art Club and has her a YouTube Channel you can access here. She has an Amazon wishlist you can find here.
