This Tuesday's Teacher spotlight is on Mrs. LaBarbera! Mrs. LaBarbera is Walker's Media Specialist. Becoming a Media Specialist was a natural progression for her. Mrs. LaBarbera loves reading and started her teaching career at Walker 18 years ago as an English teacher. After a few years, she had the opportunity to move into the Media Center, allowing her to be around books and collaborate with other teachers for research.
What was your favorite memory when you were in middle school?
I met my BFF in middle school & we are still friends to this day. She wound up marrying my husband's BFF, so we have been friends for almost our whole lives and are now raising our kids as friends too. Middle school can be challenging, but the friends you make during challenging times can be some of the best!
If there was one thing you could tell your 13-year-old self, what would it be?
Don't stress so much...it will all work out exactly as it should be.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I love to be active--run, walk, workout.
Favorite snacks: salty...almonds, wasabi peas
Favorite Drinks: Diet Coke, Water
Favorite Take Out Restaurant: Chipolte

If I received a gift card, I would love one from: Barnes & Noble, Target
