This Tuesday's Teacher spotlight is on Ms. Edl, a 6th Grade, 7th Grade, 8th Grade School Counselor. She is a graduate of the University of South Florida. She has been a school counselor for 16 years, and the last four years have been at Walker.

Why did you become a teacher?

  • I became a counselor because I'm passionate about helping kids! My goal is to equip students with the social-emotional skills necessary to be successful in life!

What is your fondest memory in your years of teaching at WMM?

  • My favorite day at Walker every year is May the 4th! We celebrate Star Wars Day!

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

  • I am a girl scout leader and enjoy planning fun activities for my troop. I also love being creative and inspiring a love of art in my daughters. We spend lots of time outside hiking, going to the beach, camping, and traveling!

If there was one thing you could tell your 13-year-old self, what would it be?

  • You are stronger than you realize! You will survive middle school!

Ms. Edl's Amazon wishlist is a special list. Everything on the list is for the school store for kids to spend their Wolf Bucks they earn for making good choices. Visit her wishlist here.
